Town Center Project — Washington, DC
Howard University selected a developer to construct a mixed-use town center project adjacent to its campus. RESG reviewed the proposal, analyzed the financial impact on Howard University, and has been assisting in the negotiations of the land lease. Since the property requires a land exchange between the District and the University, RESG is advising on the estimated values and strategy for the exchange to maximize the University’s return on its property.
RESGroup assisted the University throughout the developer selection and negotiation process including preparing the Request for Proposal, reviewing the proposals and analyzing the financial impact on the University, assisting throughout the negotiations of the land lease which has been executed. For more than three years we have advised the University on a variety of issues including strategies for a land exchange, portfolio management of its non-core properties and retail improvements along Georgia Avenue.
