Town Center Project — Washington, DC
Howard University selected a developer to construct a mixed-use town center project adjacent to its campus. RESGroup reviewed the proposal, analyzed the financial impact on Howard University, and assisted in the negotiations of the land lease. Since the property required a land exchange between the District and the University, RESGroup advised on the estimated values and strategy for the exchange to maximize the University’s return on its property.
RESGroup assisted the University throughout the developer selection and negotiation process including preparing the Request for Proposal, reviewing the proposals and analyzing the financial impact on the University, assisting throughout the negotiations of the land lease which has been executed. For more than three years we advised the University on a variety of issues including strategies for a land exchange, portfolio management of its non-core properties and retail improvements along Georgia Avenue.
