JFK Air Cargo Portfolio
Port Authority of New York and New Jersey
Competitive Benchmarking Analysis – Jamaica, NY
Air cargo is a vital contributor to the NYC economy, supporting over 50,000 jobs and $3 billion in annual wages for residents. However, the industry has experienced significant structural and pricing changes over the last two decades, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey wanted to better understand how these changes were impacting their JFK facilities.
As such, RESGroup completed a benchmarking analysis for the Port Authority for their portfolio of 4 million square feet of air cargo buildings and developable land at JFK International Airport. The analysis allowed the Port to better understand their competitive advantages and disadvantages relative to other airports in the United States as well as the local industrial market in southeastern Queens and southwestern Nassau County in New York. RESGroup created a user-friendly repository for property level information contained based on the Port’s different databases and other resources.
