Organizational Structure
Under the new administration of Mayor Cory Booker, one of the first major initiatives was economic development – to help create jobs and increase the City’s tax base. The Deputy Mayor of Economic Development and Housing asked RESGroup to assist in creating a new non-profit development corporation dedicated to achieving these goals. RESGroup worked with the City to identify the objectives and responsibilities of the organization, formulate the basis for the by-laws, create a preliminary staffing plan to achieve its objectives, create a budget, and assist in hiring the executive director for Brick City Development Corporation. BCDC partners with a broad cross-section of organizations on a city, state and federal level to retain, attract, and grow businesses in Newark.
